| Trym Lodge Willis Construction Ltd undertook the restoration of a grade 2 listed building in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol (see photograph above left) for Rombourne Ltd. This was an extensive renovation to the existing building to form new executive offices. In 2002 we built a new set of offices in a similar design, adjacent to the renovated building (see photograph above right). These two contracts were the start of an ongoing relationship that we have with Rombourne Ltd, which is now formulated on an open book collaborative agreement. | Ty Bronna House Willis Construction Ltd restored Ty Bronna House (see photographs above) in 2002 for Cadwyn Housing Association Ltd. It’s a striking building with a fascinating history and exciting future which was designed by arts and craft movement architect Charles Voysey. It is set in two acres of woodland in Fairwater, Cardiff. The grade 2 listed buildings role is now a sanctuary to 13 formerly homeless young people between the ages of 16 and 21 who are being taught to live independently, so that they can take up a tenancy of their own. Willis Construction Ltd undertook a complete refurbishment of the existing building over a 48 week contract. This included internal and external works. The contract was managed by CFW Architects, Cardiff and was £670,000 in value. Cadwyn Housing Association Ltd won a national award for ‘Outstanding achievement in Social Housing, Wales’. This was for their contribution to housing within the social housing market in South Wales. | Oak House Willis Construction Ltd will complete ‘Oak House’ in January 2005. This newbuild has been commissioned by United Welsh Housing Association Ltd to serve the purpose of a hostel for 20 persons, and will encourage persons to live more independently before moving on to individual accommodation (see photographs above). This building is situated on Newport Road, Cardiff, and is central to all local amenities. The build was a 52 week contract and was managed by CFW Architects and The Marks Davis Partnership, Cardiff. The value of the contract was £1.2 million. Upon handover the building will be managed and staffed directly by United Welsh housing Association. | Wales & West Housing Association Willis Construction Ltd have been in a partnering agreement with Wales & West Housing Association Ltd since October 2002. This 5 year partnering agreement has encompassed the refurbishment of approximately 150 kitchens (see photographs above), 100 bathrooms, and 120 central heating and boiler systems per year. Willis Construction Ltd has fully embraced the partnering ethos set out by Wales & West Housing Association. We respect each parties contribution within the partnership and we have formed a successful team of competent, trained and motivated staff, who share the vision of teamwork. Through our encouragement to form good relationships, based upon co-operation and trust, we can focus our future with Wales & West Housing Association, and our other partnering clients. This contract is managed by Bowen & Partners consultancy, Cardiff. The contract value is approximately £1.2 million per annum. | Hafod Housing Association Willis Construction Ltd have been in a partnering agreement with Hafod Housing Association since March 2004. This 3 year partnering agreement involves the refurbishment of bathrooms to meet WHDQR standards (see photographs above). This encompasses the replacement of bathroom suites, the fitting of showers, the fitting of humidistat fans, tiling, flooring and decoration.This contract is managed internally by Hafod Housing Association, and has an approximate annual contract value of £350,000. | Cardiff County Council Willis Construction Ltd have been extensively working with Cardiff County Council Private Sector Housing department between 1999 and 2003. During this period we have been involved with building boundary walls for approximately 450 houses in the Riverside and Taff embrankment areas of Cardiff (see photographs above). A number of these annual contracts have been combined with the refurbishment of houses within the same area. We are due to embark on a new boundary wall scheme in February 2005 with Cardiff County Council in the Adamsdown area of Cardiff.
